Steve McQueen was one of the biggest stars of the ‘60s and the ‘70s, becoming the highest-paid Hollywood movie star by 1974. He was known as the archetypical bad boy, which during a time when antiheroes were all the rage, made him very popular.
He got arrested as he was caught during pirouettes with his Oldsmobile in Anchorage and he was charged with drunk driving after failing a field test. Later on, he would be found guilty of reckless driving and was convicted in absentia as he left the town after making bail.
Jimi Hendrix – Drug Possession - May 3, 1969

Jimi Hendrix was one of the greatest guitarists in music history and a legend that did a lot for music in the short span of four years. He’s also remembered for passing away too young. At the height of his success, in 1969, he was arrested in Canada for having some narcotics in his luggage as he disembarked a flight.
He posted bail and later went on trial where he was acquitted. His defense team managed to create doubt on whether what they had found was actually Hendrix’s, who had no history of using those specific type of substances.

Mike Tyson has a long rap sheet, but this is one where the mug shot is worth a thousand words. He was arrested after almost crashing into a sheriff’s vehicle with his ride. He was found with cocaine in his possession and he admitted to having a problem at that point.
He checked himself into a drug rehab center before his trial, where he was found guilty but sentenced to only 24 hours in jail and community service. Joseph Stalin – Revolutionary Activities – September 1911

Before getting arrested in 1911, Stalin had been apprehended and even sent to exile numerous times. The Russian Revolution was in the making and Stalin was at the heart of it. Unfortunately for many, the means used by the revolutionaries to gain their funds and power included armed robbery, such as the case of the Tiflis robbery in 1907.
Stalin would later become the leader of the communist party and by 1930, he was the de facto leader of the Soviet Union. He’s still remembered by many as a revolutionary hero but others couldn't forget the many atrocities for which he was responsible before and during his time in leadership.
Tupac Shakur – Indecent Assault – March 8, 1995

Tupac Shakur is known as a legend in the rap industry. However, three years before he was shot and killed, he faced charges for indecent assault against a 19-year-old woman. He was found guilty and, despite being sentenced in court to four years in prison, he was released only nine months later.
His story was told in the movie All Eyez on Me, which was released in 2017. It was named after one of Tupac’s album, which became a best-seller in the United States. He was killed shortly after the release of the said album, in 1996.
John Wayne Gacy – Murder – December 22, 1978

John Wayne Gacy was a serial killer who used to make appearances as Pogo The Clown, a character of his own invention, in several charity events. However, a dark past hid behind the clown face and, as it turned out, he was found guilty of killing more than 30 young men in a six-year period.
John was captured in Des Plaines, Illinois and his smiling mug shot was taken on that occasion. He was sentenced to death and given the lethal injection on May 10, 1994, after spending 14 years in jail.

The story of Sid and Nancy was a tragic one. It was a great but destructive love that ended in death for both of them. Sid was a part of a famous punk English band and when he met Nancy, sparks flew and a story of addiction and co-dependency began.
After a day of partying and getting wasted, Sid woke up to find Nancy’s body in the bathroom of the Hotel Chelsea, where they were staying. Considering that she had died from a stab wound with Sid’s knife, he was considered the main suspect and was immediately arrested. Sid would die of an overdose before ever making it to trial.

American gangster John Dillinger was a wild but smart criminal during the Great Depression - a time when people that had caused many to lose their finances and their homes.
Dillinger, together with his group called the Pierpont Gang or the Dillinger Gang interchangeably, robbed numerous banks and participated in several prison breaks. John would eventually be known as Public Enemy Number 1 and he would become one of the most-wanted men in the United States. Dillinger, aka Carl Hellman or Jimmy Lawrence, was killed in a confrontation with the FBI in July 1934.

Benito Mussolini advocated for his ideas about social order and social politics since a very young age in Italy. This caused him to eventually head to Switzerland, where he continued to promote his advocacy. He was eventually arrested for promoting a violent strike and he served two months in prison before being deported to Italy.
Mussolini would eventually become the founder of fascism and Italy’s dictator, setting a time of uncertainty and anxiety for many Italians. He was the inspiration of many totalitarian leaders, including but not limited to Adolf Hitler. He governed over Italy for around 30 years before being executed in 1945.

Way before becoming part of the Nation Of Islam and a minister and civil rights activist, Malcolm X had lived a very difficult life. He had been in foster care and, as he grew up, despite doing well in high school, he was discouraged early on from pursuing a career.
Instead, he ended up in Manhattan, committing various crimes in Harlem which eventually led to his imprisonment. He was convicted and sentenced to serve from eight to ten years in jail. It was there where he discovered the Nation of Islam and the power of words. The legend began to form.
Jeffrey Dahmer - Murder - July 23, 1991

The second case applied to Jeffrey Dahmer, who was arrested in relation to the murder of over 15 boys and young men. Dahmer did unspeakable things to his victims, as it was proved during his trial, where he was convicted and sentenced to consecutive life sentences.

The ‘30s represented the beginning of mafia operations in the United States and Charles “Lucky” Luciano was considered the one who first established organized crime in the country. He was arrested 25 times in two decades but was never convicted of any of the accusations and did no prison time.
The year 1936 would prove to be the time that would breach this lucky streak when he was found guilty and sent to prison for pandering. However, he continued to run his organization from prison. He had even put up a group that would decide feuds between criminal families and it would determine the division of the corresponding territories. This group was called The Commission.

Hirsch, who has participated in movies like Into the Wild, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 15 days in jail, payment of a fine as well as community service. No more violent stories involving Hirsch have been reported since then and he is set to appear in Tarantino’s newest project, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, with co-stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie.

Everyone’s good image of Bill Cosby was destroyed after accusations against him for indecent conduct started to reach the surface. As it had already been established, the crimes started at the beginning of his six-decade-long career and he was convicted for three charges although many more civil lawsuits were initiated against him.
He was sentenced to three to ten years in state prison. Cosby is now serving his sentence in Phoenix, Arizona. All the re-runs of his iconic show have been pulled out the networks’ programming and his legacy has been forever tainted by his criminal activities.

Al Capone was considered persona non-grata in Miami and when he tried to enter the city, he was arrested with no explicit charges pressed against him. Of course, there were many other instances in which Capone was arrested and accused of one of his many crimes.

Vince Vaughn might be a well-known comedian but that doesn’t mean it stops him from getting into trouble! This mugshot was taken right after his arrest in April 2001. It happened while he was shooting the movie Domestic Disturbance alongside John Travolta and Steve Buscemi.
Vaughn and Buscemi were drinking in a New Hanover Country Bar when they got into a fight. Vaughn was presumably trying to break the fight off when Buscemi got stabbed multiple times and was rushed to the emergency. Vince was charged for fighting in public, charges that were dropped six months later, while Buscemi survived the stabbings. Vince was arrested again in 2018 in California for a DUI.

Starting from when he was 16 years old when he served three years in juvie for theft, James Brown lived an eventful life. This mugshot was from 1988. He was arrested multiple times that year with the final one being for aggravated assault, possession of weapons, and failure to stop for police. That arrest had him serve six years in prison. After leaving prison, he was arrested again after his wife called in that he attacked her.

Everyone knows that the '70s was a crazy time. Dennis Hopper, even though he was one of the biggest talents in Hollywood back then, did have some troubles at that time. This mugshot was taken after he got arrested in New Mexico in 1975 for reckless driving, failure to report an accident, and leaving the scene. These were charges to which he pleaded guilty and paid a fine. Rumors said that he was under the influence at that time especially after admitting to having abused substances in the past. He was very much loved until his death from complications of his Lou Gehrig’s or motor neuron disease. Jennifer wasn’t charged with anything, but Diddy was charged since a stolen gun was found on his car. They arrested Jamal Shyne Barrow for the shooting and he served eight years in prison. Sean Combs’ career has clearly flourished since, and he is now taking care of his kids and his former partner Kimberly Porter's kids. Porter died of pneumonia in 2018.

Even though Phil Spector was known to have long beautiful hair, he had to let all that go when he was charged with second-degree murder in 2009 for the murder of Lana Clarkson. Lana was found dead in Spector’s California house in 2003. He stated that her death was accidental. Many years later, the trials continued and he was finally found guilty. Brock Lesnar is a very successful WWE wrestler and mixed martial artist, who's now on his 41st year. He goes by the name of The Beast. In 2001, Brock was arrested for possessing illegal steroids meant for trafficking. After the hearing, The Beast was found innocent and the charges were dropped since the pills in his possession turned out not being steroids but rather some sort of vitamins. Brock has continued his career in WWE and has just concluded in 2019 his second reign as the Universal Champion after losing to the 32-year-old Seth Rollins.

In 2000, after a Super Bowl party in Atlanta, a fight stirred up between some of Ray Lewis' friends, and a bunch of people. The fight resulted in two people getting stabbed and eventually dying, Richard Lollar and Jacinth Baker. Lewis along with two of his friends were charged for the murder and aggravated assault.
